Committee
Mulberry Pre-School is a registered charity which is led by a committee of parent/carer volunteers, all of whom are elected at the Annual General Meeting held in the Autumn term. The day to day running of the Pre-School is the responsibility of our highly qualified and experienced staff, but the committee members are the charity trustees and are legally responsible for the organisation and finances of the Pre-School.
The main duties and responsibilities of the committee include:

Ensuring that the group complies with any requirements relating to Ofsted inspections.

Monitor incoming & outgoing finances and the contingency fund.

Working with the Manager to apply for grants and organise any fundraising events.

Along with the Manager and staff, the committee are responsible for drawing up, agreeing and adopting policies for the pre-school.

Attending all committee meetings (approx. 1 every 6 weeks). Additional meetings may be held to organise fundraising or if any special circumstances arise.

May be required to participate on the interviewing panel for new staff members.

The committee consists of 3 elected officials, The Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer who are supported by other committee and volunteer helpers. Our current committee officials are – Derven (Chairperson), Simone (Secretary) & Josh (Treasurer).
Apart from Early Years funding, fees and occasional grants our only source of income is from fundraising and donations. All funds raised are used within the setting for new equipment, resources and improvements or upgrades to the building.
All committee members will be DBS checked and asked to fill out all relevant paperwork. The Pre-School will pay any administration cost – however this will be closely monitored if the cost increases, and all new members will be notified if a contribution will be needed.
